Applied Behavior Analysis for Teachers 7th Edition

2 stars (Late Shipping) - I used this company since it said that it will ship in 2 days. 14 business days later it finally arrived. When ordering school books with a due date, I will not use this company because it agrees to ship within 2 days. 3 stars (Regarding 7th Edition Only) - The 7th Edition is precisely what I find wrong with textbook publishing today. If you're a graduate student (or any student for that matter), you have probably noticed that new editions for textbooks are being released increasingly more frequently, rendering texts far less valuable for resale than they would ordinarily be. I went to the book store and found ABA for Teachers with both the 6th and 7th editions on the shelf. I was cynical about how much the book would have changed in roughly a year's time from one edition to the next, and sure enough, they are practically identical. It is almost humorous to note that the forewards of the two editions were not even modified. The paragraph on 'Updates' to the editions is the same, noting substantial changes to one chapter and the decision to retain a particular example about a mouse. I referred to the chapter in question, and it was the same in both books. By all appearances, the changes to the 7th edition (to my eyes) are all cosmetic and do not involve content. The 7th edition is almost one hundred pages shorter than the the previous edition, due it appears to the format being changed to more of a workbook-type, taller text. Also, the headings and sidenotes now have colored fonts in many instances. If having a taller, thinner text and colored fonts is worth the extra money to you, go ahead and shell out the extra money. Otherwise, don't let the book publishers get the last laugh and stick with the 6th edition which is in substance the same book. 5 stars (Great reference to understand the principles of ABA) - This book was the textbook which was prescribed for a graduate course that I took in Behavior Modification. Now I have a great guide that helps me aproach these poses in a much safer way. 5 stars (Should be Required for Yoga Teachers!) - I'm currently in training to be a yoga teacher, and this book is required reading for my courses. It really goes into detail, as it applies to yoga postures and breathing. It's a must-have for the serious yoga student or teacher. It will help you make the most of your postures, and understand the mechanics involved. 5 stars (Get the book!) - It will change your life, if you let it. It changed mine, and continues to do so. 5 stars (A Course in Miracles) - A great book that goes into great depth of explanation about life and the biblical meanings in life. 5 stars (No Matter What Your Path This Book Can Only Bring You Inner Peace ) - This is a three volume edition that comprises of the Text, Workbook for Students and Manual for Teachers. I must say that the teachings and messages are beyond profound, where there is so much truth that leads to inner peace. There might be a few lines that seem different, and it is great to question them and then read further to gain a deeper understanding. This book goes beyond religion. It is all of our divine birthright to our connection to God, Holy Spirit, where there is unfailing guidance at every moment of life. This book teaches this to you. It teaches the true meaning of forgiveness, how when we see each other as extensions of our self, we see the oneness we all share, and our divinity as equal spiritual beings at the same time. This text can lead to the end of all wars and suffering, because truth is revealed so simply. 5 stars (Good Book!) - I read this and it gives great alternatives for boys that are having a hard time in school. I definetly recommend it! 5 stars (The Boys' Educational Crisis) - Gurian and Stevens use scientific research to diagnose what every alert parent and educator has been thinking for over a century--boys' brains and bodies were NOT made for the modern western educational system. Our system forces boys to be taught in sedentary settings, using learning styles unfit for their masculine minds. Gurian and Stevens begin by documenting the boys' crisis in education. Such research, though not novel, when pulled together like this, rattles our cages enough to gain and keep our attention. However, the true strength of "The Minds of Boys" is its thorough, detailed, specific, field-tested solutions. 3 stars (Danielle's summary review) - The things they carried is a great book by Tim O'Brien. Jimmy cross has a crush on a college girl named Martha, he knows she will never return his love because she majors in English and went to a movie on a single date to see Bonnie and Clyde and he put his hand on her knee and she looked at him and ordered him to pull his hand back. Now cross is in Vietnam and he really misses martha. The things that that they carried in thier packs depended on what kind of constitutions and personalities they had, like marijuana, bug repellant etc.. The stronger men got to carry the guns. Cross was the map keeper and basically had to protect his men. Lavender got shot, but cross didnt really care because he was focused to much on Martha and how much that he missed her. The things they carried is basically and introspective memory story and self-conscious examination of the methods and reasons behind storytelling. The narrator is unreliable; he speaks of the necessity of blurring truth and fiction in a true war story. The settings are during the late 1960's and late 1900's in Vietnam and Massachussets. The major conflict is the men of the Alpha Company, especially Tim O'Brien, grapple with the effects - both immediate and long term - of the vietnam war. Themes are physical and emotional burdens;fear of shame as motivation; the subjection of truth to storytelling. 5 stars (The Things They Carried) - This book gives outstanding insight into rhe Vietnam War and the people that served in it. The Things They Carried is a very enjoyable book; after you get through the first 10 or so pages you'll want to read the whole thing. I'm not normally into reading books, but I really liked this book and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a well told set of stories. Meaning, this book isn't just one story, but instead a set of stories told through the eyes of multiple characters. Regardless of whether you like that in a book or not, READ THIS BOOK! ...
