5 stars (Extraordinary book) - Peopleware is a book that needs to be read by ALL people related to software development; not just managers and developers. It has created plenty of debate between people in my company because of the 'saving on space' issue; also, some people from my company doesn't yet understand why a developer cannot be treated like a soldier (strict regime); this book helps out to understand such issues (and much more!). Also it has been written in a pleasant and fast way to read. ??Excellent piece of work! The remaining only issue: It doesn't talk anything about the process of selling. Eventhough it's not a 'Sellingware' book, I think it deserves one chapter, just to create a link with the people that are in charge of generating money to support the 100 square feet that each programmer needs. 5 stars (A must read for any Manager.) - This a great book. 5 stars (Excellent book!) - Very pleased! This book is clear and invaluable for teaching you all about wiring - especially if you've never done it before! 5 stars (I did it!) - I compared this book to many others (including the Home Depot book mentioned in another review) before I bought it, and this one seemed to be the most comprehensive, clear and concise for my purposes. I used this book to help guide me through wiring portion in the process of ripping out my entire basement (all the way to the block walls) and rebuilding it. This is a fifty year old house with old "ragwire" wiring, which I replaced as I did the new work. I used the information in the book to do my electrical permit drawings which flew through the permit office with no comments from the reviewer. I installed multiple remote controlled recessed and surface-mounted lighting fixtures and networked the house for computer, video, audio and telephone by following the well-illustrated and clearly written directions in the book. The circuit diagrams proved especially helpful in wiring the multiple-switched and zoned lighting fixtures. All of the work passed the rough-in and final inspections by the electrical inspector without a single comment or change, and not once did I need to call in a professional electrician. I have several more projects on the agenda, including wiring my large shed, some low-voltage landscape lighting and a complete remodeling of the 50 year old kitchen and bathrooms, and this book includes all of the required information. I know I won't need to buy any other DIY books on the subject of wiring in order to finish the projects. Based on the quality and ease-of-use of this book, I went out and bought the Black & Decker book on plumbing. If you are remodeling (or just installing a ceiling fan) and want to save a ton of cash by doing your own electrical work, I highly recommend this book. 2 stars (OK, but not very advanced) - This book is fine for basic electrical work. 5 stars (Lovely presentation, innovative ideas) - One of the reasons I love this book is its gorgeous presentation. Let's face it, at least 50% of a book's appeal is how it is photographed and laid out - this book gets an A from me. There are a few projects that are quite "Meh" (like the knitted crowns - though I think my daughter will love one) but the ideas are wonderful. It is worth a look. A small "notebook" is included inside the front cover, it is just knitter's graph paper but a cute idea even if I won't be using it. Knit a window/door screen with nylon thread? Why not? I also love the armchair cushion - I am inspired to find an old leather chair just to make that cushion. Another favorite is the little knitted "lanterns" meant for adding to a string of lights. Wrist warmers have been done to death, but here they are photographed on a model holding a guinea pig - I have to admit, I am charmed :^) A lot of luxury yarns and new ideas for knitting. 5 stars (irresistible for the adventurous knitter) - I LOVE this book. I got it 3 days ago & already have 2 projects started from it! The patterns are so well written; clear & concise. The photography is beautiful! And there are truly new & creative things in here! 5 stars (jewelry rave) - This book is a must have for anyone who wants to create beauty with metals, but does not have safe access to a torch. I live in a condo, and had to find an available 'lab' whenever I wanted to complete a piece of jewelry. I have moved on to a new style of fabrication, and love it. 5 stars (An outstanding book on cold-connections.) - A cold connection = any connection made without heat. Joanna has put together a fantastic book that brings together many different cold connection techniques. I have yet to find another jewelry making book that covered as many cold techniques that this one does.
